Service Tips FROM
Air FiltersThe air filter is the heart of your system. Check them on a regular basis. If they restrict the airflow to your system, they can cause severe damage. Make sure your system is capable of handling the new highly restrictive electro-static air filters before installing them. A qualified service technician can make sure it will work, with some modification to the blower.
Fan MotorsMotors should be lubed annually. A light (10 wieght) oil is recommended for most motors. Make sure that your access panels are secured, and not leaking air.
Air registersAlways make sure that air grills or registers are opened. It is never acceptable to close off registers completely. If there is a problem with your airflow, have a qualified service technician balance the air ducts of your system.
ThermostatsNever turn your system on & off rapidly, most systems need at least three (3) minutes between cycles. Short cycling of the system causes motor overloads due to overheating. Limiting the life of your compressor or fan motors.
MaintenanceWhether you have Commercial or Residential equipment, it should be properly serviced on a quarterly basis by a qualified service technician. This practice can keep your heating - cooling equipment in top shape during the peak load times. Although no mechanical system can be trouble free, you can at least be assured that any common service problems can be addressed before they do any significant damage.
