The Condensing Unit:
This piece of equipment is responsible for the circulation of refrigerant through your system. The contactor supplies high power to the compressor and the condenser fan motor. Your thermostat operates this contactor. The compressor pumps the refrigerant through the condenser coil where it is cooled by the condenser fan and continues on to the evaporator coil. The capacitors (fan and compressor) help these high power motors start quicker. The drier is installed to filter debris and remove non-condensables such as moisture. The liquid line carries refrigerant to the evaporator and the suction line returns vapor to the compressor.
